Hotels in Puerto Vallarta

mainPuerto Vallarta has always been a preferred destination among those looking for a honeymoon or romantic escape in a tropical setting. It’s also one of the Top Spring Break destinations (and hence a place where the young crowds love to party all night long).

Here at WhyGo Mexico we tried to put together a list of hotels suitable for different types of travelers. Whether you are looking for a place to spend a romantic vacation, a hotel where your kids can have fun while you check out the city or a place to tennis tennis, Puerto Vallarta has them all.

For a romantic escape

romantic1
In a place where you can find a strip of land called “Romantic Zone”, it’s obvious why people flock here. Puerto Vallarta is especially popular among honeymooners and those looking for a romantic getaway. Romantic hotels in the “Romantic Zone” (where else?) range from budget to luxury.

Los Arcos Suites comprise three smaller hotels, out of which Casa Doña Susana is suitable for those looking for an intimate vacation. It’s an adults-only boutique hotel. Special offers are available year-round. Standard rooms cost around US$77 per person during the high season.

Puerto Vallarta is also known as a gay-friendly area. Places such as Blue Seas Resort and Spa or Blue Chairs Resort by the Sea are both gay-friendly and offer special packages.

For the families

family
Traveling as a family might appear tricky, especially for the young parents. Gone are the days when you can dance all night and sleep all…or are they? Of course you don’t want to ditch your kid with a baby sitter but if you want to spend a romantic dinner, you can benefit from that service.

Also, a family hotel needs to offer fun things for the kids, from a children swimming pool to games, arcades and activities.

Club Meza del Mar is a 3-star all inclusive family oriented hotel. It’s located at the south end of Playa del Sol and offers 127 rooms. Baby sitting service offered and there’s also a children swimming pool. In the high season, you will pay US$102 per person in a standard room.

San Marino Hotel is a 4 star hotel catering for the families. The all inclusive packages include kids’ activities from table games to dance classes.

For the sports enthusiasts

golf
For those who enjoy playing tennis or golf, Puerto Vallarta has some nice place to offer. There are three golf courts in Puerto Vallarta (out of which one is privately owned). Two tennis clubs are also available, but many resorts offer the possibility to play ( & learn) tennis within their grounds.

Canto Del Sol is one of the resorts where you can enjoy playing tennis during your vacation. The resort features 4 outdoor courts and 4 covered courts. The resort also offers access to the golf courses in Puerto Vallarta (both private and public). Golf packages (3 or 5 nights) are available.

For the budget traveler

When the economy is going down all over the globe, the last thing we want is to spend a lot on our vacations (that’s in case we actually still have money to go somewhere). The budget hotels have the advantage of offering a place to stay for a very good price. Of course you must be willing to give up certain facilities but that’s a small price to pay. On the other hand, there are plenty of budget places which offer way more than you have ever expected.

Rosita Hotel is located in the heart of Puerto Vallarta, close to shops, bars and restaurants. There are 115 rooms available, all equipped with AC (or fan). Prices start at US$57 per person per night.

Las Palmas by the Sea is one of those budget places where you get way more than you have ever expected. All inclusive packages are available and there are also discounts offered if you purchase via their website. If you plan to travel with your kids, this is a good option as well (2 adults & 2 kids, 7 nights for US$957, all inclusive).
