February in Cancun
For those visiting Cancun in February, everything revolves around the beach and nature. It’s also a favorite month to get married (thanks to St. Valentine’s Day) which means many couples choose to have their destination wedding here and then spend a lovely honeymoon experiencing the lovely Mexican beaches and culture.
Mild temperature, cool breezes at night and clear skies are to be expected in Cancun during the entire month of February.
Typically, during this month, the temperatures vary between an average high of 82F/28C and average low of 68F/20C. Thanks to the cool breezes at night, even accommodation without AC is an excellent choice.
Generally speaking, there’s little rain falling in February, but if it happens, you can expect the rainfall around 6 p.m. or midnight, hence not affecting your beach time at all.

Festivals and Events
The Day of the National Flag falls on February 24. The colors of the national flag are honored and many vendors sell small flags (they can be a nice souvenir to bring back home).
Other things to Do
Thanks to its location, Cancun is all about the beaches and nature. Tourists flock here to soak up the sun and practice water sports. Boat excursions, dinner cruises and fishing are among the things you can experience here. And of course you can swim, snorkel and dive as well.
For those who enjoy a golf game, there are 10 golf courses to choose from. It’s known that the best golf courses are located south of the Cancun Hotel Zone, so if this is what you are here for, try to find accommodation in that area.
There are also a lot of natural reserves to check out, including a bird sanctuary and a spider monkey refuge. Within many of the parks – most popular being Xcaret, Xel-Ha, Tres-Rios and Garrafon – you can swim, snorkel, hike and visit Mayan ruins.
For the perfect day trip you can choose a visit of the incredible Mayan site: Chichen Itza . Try to arrive as early as possible (around 8 a.m.) to avoid both the crowds and the heat.
If watching a bullfight is something you want to experience while vacationing here, you can stop by Plaza de Toros every Wednesday afternoon.
Getting to Cancun in February
Cancun is served by an airport so the best way to get here is via a flight. You might want to book it in advance though and avoid flying during the weekends.
Where to Stay
