Best Restaurants in Cancun

Cancun is a very well known vacation spot because of its beautiful resorts, lovely beaches and superb diving spots. It’s also very close to Mayan ruins which makes it a good base for day trips.

While the majority of travelers choose an all-inclusive package and hence eat at the resort’s restaurants, we recommend you to a bit more “adventurous” and try some other restaurants as well. There are plenty of interesting places to try: from restaurants which serve only sea food, to those which have a lot of international dishes in the menu. And fear not the prices: you can find great restaurants where you’ll pay just couple of dollars for a meal.

Puerto Madero

The restaurant’s ambience recreates a 20th- century dock warehouse. Although the touch of modern architecture give the impression of a very sophisticated place, don’t worry about your attire as casual is fine. There’s also an outdoor terrace where you can view some spectacular sunsets. The menu comprises a wide variety of seafood dishes, Argentinean-style grilled meats, pasta and salads.

Lorenzillo’s Restaurant

Due to being hit by hurricanes plenty of times, the restaurant has been rebuilt three times already but its location – the Nichupte Lagoon – makes it worthwhile. This 30 years old restaurant is proud to have been awarded the National Best Restaurant Award and Five Diamonds Award from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences (among other certifications).
