june-mexico-cityJune is still one of the high tourist season months, when you should expect good weather and quite a few travelers. It’s the perfect time to do some sightseeing in Mexico City during the day and check out the night life in the evening.

June is still high tourist season in Mexico City, with warm temperatures and dry weather although it might rain quite a bit (less than during the rainy July & August). The average high temperature is 76F/24C while the average low is 57F/13C. It’s the perfect weather for sightseeing during the day but if you plan to walk in the city during the night, make sure to bring some warmer clothes.

Things to do and events

The weather is excellent for sightseeing, so make sure to check out the historic sites in Mexico City . Make sure to visit the beautiful cathedrals. Once you managed to soak up the history and unique atmosphere, head to Chapultepec Castle & Park for a relaxing time.

Feeling hungry after so much walking? Check out the incredible restaurants in Mexico City and enjoy the real Mexican food . How about trying some enchiladas or tamales ? Wash them down with some tequila.

Still hooked on the incredible food? Then visit Mexico City between June 1 and June 13 and check out the Nopal Fiesta, an annual fair featuring a lot of good food, dancing and crafts.

June is also filled with religious festivities. June 24 marks St. John the Baptist Day, while June 29 marks St. Peter and St. Paul Day. On both days fiestas and religious ceremonies take place.

Arriving in Mexico City in June

The easiest way to get to Mexico City is via a flight . There are plenty of US airlines serving the city’s airport, as well as other Mexican airports . Book your ticket in advance since June is still high season and it might be tricky to find something right before you plan to depart.

Where to stay in Mexico City in June

Accommodation in Mexico City is for all budgets and all types of travelers. There are hostels located to close to downtown and where a bed costs up to US$20 per night. Of course, there are also more expensive hotels but with a little research you can find excellent gems for great prices, right in the heart of everything.
