When planning your vacation in Mexico, choosing the perfect accommodation is next after booking your flight. However, it’s equally important as it can make or break your holiday. Everyone seems to flock to Mexico between December and April so make sure to book your accommodation well in advance.
Accommodation in Mexico takes many forms: from the cheap hostels in Mexico City to the expensive all inclusive luxury resorts in Cancun and pretty much everything in between.
Let’s take a look at the accommodation types in Mexico so that you know what to expect.
Generally the price per room is determined by the tourist season. Location also plays an important part and so do the amenities. Hotels located in the popular beach resorts areas are on the pricey side, but in the cities you will be able to find affordable hotels.

The cheaper alternative to hotels, hostels cater for the low-budget traveler. Careful planning allows you to spend time in a popular destination such as Acapulco or Cancun for a fraction of the price you’d pay in a hotel or resort.
Also, B&Bs are generally listed on line under hostels but the prices tend to be somewhere between the hostels and hotels prices.

Resorts offer both accommodation and a lot of activities in the same package. The prices are rather high but good bargains can be obtained if booking a package through a travel agency.
